Virginia Telephone andTele graph plans to spend more than $6,000,000 in 1968 in improved and expanded facilities to meet the challenges of growth throughout its service area in Virginia, according to D. H. Reid, Division Manager. “While a portion of Vatel’s large outlay in 1968 will be used to push ahead to meet rapidly growing telephone requirements, a substantial portion will be used for extending and further improving services for our presentcustomers," Reid said. Forecasting 1968 construction activities, Reid said Vatel will surpass many goals achieved in 1967, when over 5,600 new telephones were added.
