On January 3 the Flint Hill Rescue Squad was called and reported to an accident on Route 211 which was a false alarm. January 4 Robert Stanley Foster was moved to the Winchester Memorial Hospital to his home. On January 9 Mary Jane Riley was taken from home on John R. Moore farm to the Warren Memorial Hospital. January 11, Mrs. Eliza Settle was taken from home in Washington to the Winchester Memorial Hospital. She was dead on arrival. Sperryville Rescue Squad on January 7 brought Mrs. John Gore from the University of Virginia Hospital to her home in Gid Brown Hollow. Amissville Rescue Squad took Ned Stringfellow from his home to Fauquier Hospital Tuesday night. Amissville Fire Company answered a call January 8 near Morgan’s Barbershop where a backhoe was on fire.
