Making A Decision
Have you ever thought about the process you go through when you make a decision? This process is an organized way of thinking. Sometimes a person does it unconsciously; for example dressing to go outdoors in cold weather. He doesn’t think about each step; he just does it. Other times it takes lots of time and thought to come to the proper decision.
Whenever a person makes any kind of a decision, there are two basic types of information on hand. The first one is facts. A fact is something we know is true. A fact is proven. We have experimental data and information that will support this fact. For example, when twc parts hydrogen and 1 part oxygen are mixed, the mixture results in water. It doesn’t matter who does this or how many times it is performed, the results is the same. This is one type ol information that will influence a decision.
Another type of information is “what we think are facts.” These are notions that have beer handed down to us by somone else. We have no information thal will prove these notions but we have accepted them because we
