The Amissville Ruritan Club is making plans for a public supper on Saturday, April 3. The horse show sponsored by this group has been set for Saturday, May 8.
Local Jaycee Cagers
Second in State
The Rappahannock Jaycee basketball team placed second in the state in competition held Friday night in Winchester. Seventeen teams participated in the state tournament.
According to Jaycee publicity chairman, J. B. Willis, the local team played three games to enter the final and fourth game. Most of the games were played back to back with little or no rest breaks between and the Rappahannock team consisted of only seven men. In the final analysis, the local boys lost by only four points to Botetourt County Chapter team.
Playing for Rappahannock were Roger Atkins, Roger Anderson, C. E. Dodson, Jonas Jenkins, Ronnie Pullen, Roy Atkins Jr. and Pete Campbell with Sonny Anderson as coach.
