John McKay of Griffinsburg, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Butler and three daughters Caroline, Angela and Tammie, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Thornhill and daughter Luellen and Linwood Smith. Mrs. Cary Thornhill entertained at a luncheon on Wednesday. Guests included Mrs. Ann Kilby of Culpeper, Mrs. Leo Wood of Reva Park, Mrs. George Butler and Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Hawkins. Mrs. Julia Carver of Culpeper spent the weekend with her brother-in-law and sister Mr. and Mrs. George W. Tidier. Mr. and Mrs. Emerson Bennett and sons Eddie and Tony of Alexandria were Saturday guests of Mrs. Bennett’s parents Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Burke. Mr. Burke is recovering satisfactorily from a broken leg. A trash fire, which got out of hand during the high winds last Saturday, did extensive damage, burning over several acres of hay field and a hen house on the Mason Green farm.
