Rep. Robinson Asks Identity of P.O.W.’s
Washington - Rep. J. Kenneth Robinson joined today in introducing a Congressional resolution calling on North Vietnam and the Viet Cong to identify all prisoners of war they hold, and to abide by the Geneva Convention regarding humane treatment of such prisoners.
“Such a resolution was adopted by the House in December, 1969, and I think it important that this 92nd Congress restate the indignation of the American people at the continuing refusal of the Hanoi regime and its Viet Cong supporters in South Vietnam to conform to the code of civilized nations in this matter,” the Seventh District Congressman commented. I He noted that North Vietnam jwas a signer of the Geneva Convention of 1949, which calls for impartial inspection of prisonerof-war camps, free exchange of mail between prisoners and theii families and the exchange of sjck Qr injured prisoners. *-x
