Race Officials and
Workers Named
The Rappahannock Hunt Pointto-Point Race Committee has announced the officials who will be responsible for the 22nd running of the classic which is scheduled for Saturday, March 6 at Thornton Hill Farm near Sperryville.
Edward Haggerty as race chairman, will coordinate all committee actions and will be closely assisted by Joint-Masters James W. Fletcher and John R. deBergh; Mrs. Michael G. Marsh, race secretary; and ex-MFH Oliver Durant II, race course supervisor. The other positions of major responsibility are as follows: R. Philip Irwin, treasurer; Mrs. P, Lee Thornton, sponsor secretary; Mrs. Dorothy Kuncewicz, advertising; Mr. and Mrs. Fanning Baumgardner, clerks of the paddock; Bobby Gehringer, clerk of the scales; Mrs. Beverly Massie, trophies; James F. Massie, parking; J. Newbill Miller, program sales; and Elzy Brown, numbers secretary.
In addition to the committee members, a number of well known Rappahannockians will be volunteering their very able assistance to make the event a successful one. Wilson Burke will organize the Rappahannock Jaycees to sell lunches as they have done in the past and Bill Lyne and Clifton Clark are cochairmen for the famous hound
