Guitar Concert

On Saturday, February 27 at the Culpeper County High School at 8 p.m. the world famous Spanish guitarists, The Romeros, will present the second concert in the series of three sponsored by the Culpeper Community Association. Members of the board of directors come from Orange, Madison, Rappahannock, Fauquier and Culpeper.
Caledonio Romero, founder and father of the celebrated Quartet, was born in Malaga, youngest son of the Spanish architectural engineer who designed the harbor of Gibraltar. Educated at the Conservatory of Madrid, he developed a technique and power of expression which brought him to national attention while still in his teens.
A special aspect of Celedonio’s life and dedication to the art of the Spanish guitar is the devotion with which he has developed and nurtured the talent evidenced by his sons, Celin, Pepe and Angel. Under the guidance of their father, each has developed his own unique talents to an individual style of guitar playing which distinguishes him from any other member of the family. A quote from the New, York Times expresses their talents, "4 Romeros on 4 guitars - perfectly glorious.”
