Sperryville Volunteer Rescue Squad, Inc. completes a year of active service today, February 25, 1971. Since its establishment the squad has responded to 70 calls and traveled a total of 7,500 miles. Of these calls 18 were accidents and 52 were for illness. Donald Gore, spokesman for the group, expressed appreciation to the community and all who have faithfully supported the squad and its activities. Without support of the area and county citizens, donations and contributions of time and money, the group could not function.
