Then the 20-year advertising veteran spent $250,000 in improvements to the property, including a chair lift, murals painted by Corcoran Gallery students, decking around the ski lodge to create an area with 12 slopes, night lighting, — all, to quote Gamble, for what was about to become “a viable ski area.”
