A mass meeting of the Rappahannock Democratic party was held Saturday at the courthouse in Washington. At this time delegates were named to attend the state convention in Roanoke June 9 and 10.
Elected delegates were Carson B. Johnson ofSperryville, Gordon Thornhill, Boston; Edward Bailey, Washington, and Mrs. Mary Jane Jordan, Flint Hill. Johnnie Summers of Washington was chosen as alternate.
At a meeting Monday night, Carson Johnson was selected to act as chairman for the local Democrats. □
