EXCEPT FOR teachers, school board members and a few others, nearly all speakers at the “informational meeting” on Rappahannock’s school budget thought the proposed eight per cent raise for teachers’ salaries was too much and came at the wrong time. The economy is in “chaos,” one person said, while another speaker noted that merchants and farmers don’t get an annual “step increase ’ ’ and “cost of living raise. ”
Teachers’ salaries received the most attention during the “informational meeting” at Rappahannock County Elementary School Tuesday nieht.
