The Chester Gap 4-H members will meet Wednesday evening, April 30, at 4 o’clock in the fire hall to start a new series of projects. All interested are urged to attend. Our 4-H members participated in the Community Clean-up Saturday morning when 21 workers (17 youth and 4 adults, contributed a total of 42 hours picking up trash and tin cans along the roadside.
Mrs. Haywood Williams was honored with a birthday dinner Sunday in the James E. Starnes’ home in Front Royal. Mrs. Starnes and her mother, Mrs. Daniel Mahoney, were hostesses. Others present were Mr. Starnes, Brian and Lori; Daniel Mahoney; Haywood Williams, Rhonda and April; and Mr. and Mrs. Aubrey Ritenour, Amy and Tracy.
Mr. and Mrs. Russell Campbell of Front Royal were Saturday evening visitors of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Williams. Sunday Mrs. Williams accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Kenny Williams and Melissa to Cedarville to visit Mr. and Mrs. William Taylor.
Mrs. George Griffith of Chester and her son, Mark Griffith, of Budd Lake, N.J., were Tuesday overnight guests of the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Cain.
Mr. and Mrs. Ted Vaughn and children of Luray were Sunday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Timmy Williams and sons.
Mr. and Mrs. James Fox attended a wedding shower for Mr. and Mrs. Ken Carter in Front Royal Friday evening.
Mrs. Sherman Williams, a patient in Warren Memorial Hospital, is reported doing satisfactorily.
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Leake and family visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Woodson Leake, Saturday, in Sperryville.
Mrs. Linda Barnett and son W illiam of Front Royal spent Monday with Mrs. Hazel Longmire.
Friday dinner guests of Mrs. Sam North were Mr. and Mrs. Luther Brown, Mrs. Susan Milburn and daughter, Karen, and Louis Milburn, all of Hamilton. Mr. North, who suffered a light stroke in his home several days ago, continues in Warren Memorial Hospital. His sister, Mrs. Lucy Brown, of Baltimore is spending the week in the North home.
