Ms. Harvey noted that she may have problems placing the six workers she has tentatively alloted to Rappahannock since CETA participants are allowed training only with non-profit organizations. She emphasized that the Adult Work Experience program is funded entirely with federal dollars and required no local contribution. “We hope to screen (potential applicants) and find ones motivated enough to improve their situation,” she said.
Dr. Bloomer recommended that the School Board authorize participation in the program as an employer on a trial basis and the Board responded with a unanimous vote, leaving participation up to the Superintendent’s discretion.
