I wish to express my sincere appreciation to those of you who voted for me in the recent election for the House of Delegates. I want to assure each and every One that I will work as hard for Rappahannock as I have for my own county in years past. I would especially like to thank the precinct, chairmen,, the workers and the phone people for all of their efforts in my behalf. I am sure that the vote would have been much less if it had not been for the wonderful support of so many nice people in Rappahannock County.

I appreciate very much this opportunity to express publicly, in your Letters to the Editor section, my deep appreciation to all the Virginians who helped me during the long months of my campaign for Lieutenant Governor and to thank all the voters who placed their faith in me on November 8. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as Lieutenant Governor, and I look forward to working with Virginians from all over our state as we help build a future we can face with confidence and hope.
