Ordination
Service
On November 20, Washington Baptist Church will conduct a special worship service at 11 a.m., at which time the pastor, David M. Moore,will be ordained into the ministry. Additionally, the church will ordain as deacons Mrs. Dorothy Clater, Frank Donald, Carroll Racer Jr., and Judge William Moffett. Mrs. Clater will be the first woman ordained as deacon in the history of the church.
Following the worship service, there will be a covered dish lunch honoring those ordained as well as Gilbert Updike and Irving Sisk, both of whom are becoming deacons emeriti.
Dr. E. T. Clark, pastor emeritus of the First Baptist Church of Winchester, will preach the ordination sermon.
