A landowner is not deprived of the right to use his property by granting an easement. He only gives up the right to use the property in any way that would be destructive or detrimental to the character of the land as a natural resource.
Dennis and his aunt, Mrs. Hope Anderson, recorded their open space easements on 180 acres near Flint Hill on November 2. Dennis said his decision to participate in the program was primarily motivated by a desire to see Rappahannock County retain its unique rural character and beauty.
