and I had planned to put in a bill opposing it, but by midDecember there were several bills in against it. I plan to support H.B. No. 2 which Delegates Putney and Gunn are proposing. I have entered in H.B. No. 25 for the town of Culpeper, charter changes and today a bill will be submitted by me to relieve volunteer fire departments and volunteer rescue squads of paying sales taxes on any capital improvements.

All in all, the four sessions of orientation for freshman delegates, meeting and listening to seasoned Delegates, walking a mile to work each morning at 7:30 a.m. and back in late evening, observing the working of the Assembly itself, attending caucas meetings and other State government affairs has greatly enhanced my enthusiasm for trying to represent fairly and prudently the good folks of Madison, Orange, Rappahannock and Culpeper Counties.
