Fanning Baumgardner asked Krebser if he was aware that Baumgardner had colored the new zoning maps in 1973 from maps prepared by the Planning Commission and that Zoning Administrator Evan McNear did not take part in the project.
Krebser countered that he had gone through all the Board of Supervisor minutes and “didn’t find one mention of discussion of commercial zoning for the ski area.” He added that the minutes indicated Baumgardner was not officially hired as assistant zoning administrator until after he had colored the maps.
In his statement at the close of the meeting, Moore replied to some of the issues raised by Krebser. He explained that the ski area would have a first aid station manned and handled by the National Ski Patrol whose members are required to have first aid certificates. He noted that an ambulance had been needed only seven times last year at Camelback and on each occasion, the ski area had paid or “donated” $25 for the call.
According to Moore, the ski area will provide 35 fulltime jobs for local people plus part-time employment during the summer and winter seasons for youngsters. Out of approximately 40 employees, said Moore, only three or four will be imported from outside the county.

Moore didn’t argue with Krebser’s contention that the proposed Alpine slide offered no exercise. He agreed that Alpine sliding was not a sport ‘‘but it isn’t just like an amusement park either .". It’s somewhere in between,” he added. ‘‘We think it’s more like a oneman bobsled ride than anything else (with riders) in control of their own destiny . . . except they don’t have a steering wheel.”
Doug Baumgardner submitted a letter from the company responsible for installation of the slide on erosion control measures that I will be followed during construction. According to the letter, a drain system will be used to collect run-off with berms and ditches following the slide track from top to bottom. The construction area will also be backfilled and seeded for ground cover, Baumgardner read, adding that 20 slides had been built to date with no erosion problems. Stabbing a finger in the air in the doctor’s direction, Baumgardner also stated that he took “deep exception” to Krebser’s testimony and considered it a “direct assault on the integrity of a member of my family ... my father.” Krebser’s allegations that Moore’s property was improperly colored as commercial land on the 1973 zoning map by Fanning Baumgardner are "just not true,” he maintained. He described Krebser’s charges as "indicative of some of the tactics of some of the opposition” and argued that Krebser’s testimony “should not be given a great deal of credibility.”
