Wakefield Country Day School in Huntly has announced that, starting in 1978, it will administer each year a comprehensive examination to seventh graders as they complete their elementary course of study. This special examination, designed by Wakefield officials, will attempt to assess each student’s grasp of the academic material covered during his first seven years of schooling. Those passing the examination will be awarded an Elementary Leaving Certificate allowing them to enter Wakefield’s Upper School.

Wakefield’s Upper School presently has the eighth and ninth grades and will add, according to William Lynn, the school Administrator, the tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grades during the next few years. Lynn says that the Upper School curriculum is primarily college preparatory in nature and will require that students have a very solid elementary foundation. Students will be able to
