To the editor:
Let’s tell it like it is! A gentle reminder to those local folk who take umbrage over the lovely little seat of Rappahannock County being referred to as "little Washington.”
Quite the contrary seems to be ture in the neighboring state to the south of us. The natives were quite proud when Tom Brokaw on NBC’s "Today” program on TV, referred, in some detail, to “little Washington, North Carolina, the first of them all.’”
It would seem that some of the energy devoted to criticizing the local young men who are working to open "The Inn in Little Washingtop" could instead have been'more appropriately directed at the announcer and TV network which nationally contradicted our own Washington’s claim to a historic first.
