Dear Parents and Friends of Rappahannock, We, the teachers of the Rappahannock County, are distressed about the budget recently submitted to the Rappahannock School Board.
First of all, there is no mention of capital outlay expansion to deal with the pressing problem of overcrowding at the High School) and Elementary School. Another modular unit has been proposed for the Elementary School to house the Piedmont LD program. Modular units have proven to be not only costly, but temporary solutions due to their short life span.
Second, the basic budget proposal for instructional supplies is inadequate to meet present requirements. Because of this inadequacy, individual student material fees will need to be increased to meet instructional needs.
