Yet, Jane Fonda and a few of your misguided readers seek to implant an irrational hysterical fear of nuclear power in the public mind. A. S. McLean, director of the British National Radiological Protection Board, addressed this issue in a speech on risk assessment.
And may I beg the reader to remember that the Academy’s report is not the opinion of an actress (who lives in super luxury by virtue of the American system while being reported as praying for a communist victory), nor of one assistant professor; but of a universally respected scientific body.
Also please realize that the Academy is not under the influence of industry (which is pictured as an evil in our country) nor under the government, which in spite of the billions its spends in welfare, is accused of not caring for the people.
Furthermore, it would be wise to recall that documentaries are frequently more gossip than Gospel; this one is evidently more directed to spreading fear than established facts, while the Academy’s opinioq is that of FREE scientific minds.
