Shirley Williams Yancey of Chester Gap became the bride of William H. Prosser III of Winchester on February 3, 1980. The marriage was performed by the Rev. William Alford in the Chester Gap Baptist Church.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Williams of Chester Gap and the bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Janie Prosser of Baltimore, Md.
Raye Rector of Hume presented a program of traditional wedding music.
Given in marriage by her father the bride wore a formal gown of white organza over taffeta with a scooped neckline and long sleeves trimmed with scalloped lace and seed pearls. Her fingertip veil was enhanced with lace and pearls also, and she carried a bouquet of white rcises and babies breath.
