Later, Luke acknowledged that, according to the commonwealth's attorney, the two proposed ordinances were neither unconstitutional nor unreasonable search and seizure. The supervisors chairman said he’d voted against the new laws because the majority of his constituents in Piedmont District were opposed to enactment. This majority sentiment was reportedly expressed at a special meeting held in the Sperryville fire hall on Tuesday, March 4. According to Luke, the notice of the meeting had been posted in stores around the community.
