Members of the Rappahannock Fanner’s Market celebrated their first year with a meeting Saturday night at the home of the Eton Kent’s at Washington when an election of officers was held and plans made for reorganizing in 1980.
Officers elected included Truman Keesey, president; Marshall Burke, vice president and head vendor; Pearl Clarke, recording secretary; Marjorie Keesey, corresponding secretary; Marie Atkins, treasurer and Eton Kent, manager.
Eton Kent, reporting for the auditing committee, declared the books in order, and Marshall Burke of the Negotiations and Budget Committee, reported the present lease provided for the continuing use of the market site next to the Rappahannock Farmers’ Cooperative on Route 211 west of Washington.
