He advised youngsters that street lighting in the county’s villages and the town of Washington will not adequately illuminate trickor-treaters and reminded kids to stay well on the side of the road. "Trick-ortreaters must watch for cars and motorists should be on the alert for trick-ortreaters,” the sheriff said. Buntin also suggested youngsters wind up door-todoor adventures at a reasonable hour.
The Rappahannock News would like to add one more note to the Sheriff's list. Trick-or-treating is for youngsters, not for 17 and 18-year-olds who had their fun collecting Halloween candy years ago. We suggest that older teenagers dress up for Dracula at Mountain Magic Cinema or drop in at one of the Halloween parties held at local churches and leave trick-or-treating to the younger set.
