A member of the American Rescue Dog Association and National Association for Search and Rescue, VSRDA will answer calls for assistance from official agencies and organizations ONLY on a first call, first served basis.
In addition to search techniques, the VSRDA team on Sunday will also demonstrate use of a compass, particularly focusing on how someone who is lost can use a compass to find their way out of the woods.
Cub Scout Pack 123 invites anyone interested to attend Sunday's special program. In the event of rain, activities will be cancelled. A team from the Virginia Search and Rescue Dog Association will present a program Sunday, November 2, at 2 p.m. on the elementary school baseball field demonstrating the skills of highly trained German Shepherd dogs in rescue situations.
