Sharon Kay Settle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert B. Settle of Amissville and a senior at Rappahannock County High School, is a finalist in the United States Senate Youth Program.

Two students from each state are chosen annually for the Youth Program which is aimed at providing opportunities for outstanding high school students to broaden their knowledge and understanding of the political processes of American government.

Sharon’s selected as a finalist was based on a tenpage government test and essay contest. Last Friday, she was in Richmond for an interview session, the final criteria used in choosing the two students to represent Virginia. Results of the interview will be announced November 1.
