NOTICE
Pursuant to Section 15.1-431 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, and Sections 58-829.1 and 58-829.1:1 of the Code of Virginia, I960, as amended, notice is hereby given that the Board of Supervisors of Rappahannock County will consider for adoption an ordinance on December 1, 1980 at 10:00 a.m. in the Courthouse, Washington, Rappahannock County, Virginia, which ordinance reads as follows:
WHEREAS, Sections 5SS29.1 and 58029.1:1 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, empower the County of Rappahannock to provide, by ordinance, for the exemption, in whole or in pari, of certain classes of certain personal property set forth therein, from taxation; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of Rappahannock County desires to exempt all of those classifications of household goods, personal effects, farm animals, grains, agricultural products, farm machinery, farm implements and equipment from taxation as provided in the aforesaid Code Sections 58.829.1 and 58.829.1:1.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, that the folio wing claaaiiication&.oi., household goods, personal effects, farm animals, grains, agricultural products, farm machinery, farm implements and equipment be, and they hereby are, exempted from taxation pursuant to the aforesaid Sections of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended:
1. Bicycles
2. Household and kitchen furniture, including gold and silver plates, plated ware, watches and clocks, sewing machines, refrigerators, automatic refrigerating machinery of any type, vacuum cleaners and all other household machinery, books, firearms and weapons of all kinds.
3. Pianos, organs, phonographs and record players, and records to be used therewith and all other musical instruments of whatever kind, radio and television instruments and equipment.
4. Oil paintings, pictures, statuary, curios, articles of virtu and works of art.
5. Diamonds, cameos or other precious stones and all precious metals used as ornaments or jewelry.
6. Sporting and photographic equipment.
7. Clothing and objects of apparel.
8. All other tangible personal property used by an individual or a family or household incident to maintaining an abode.
9. Horses, mules and other kindred animals.
10. Cattle.
11. Sheep and goats.
12. Hogs.
13. Poultry.
14. Grains and other feeds used for the nurture of farm animals.
15. Grain, tobacco and other agricultural products in the hands of a producer.
16. Farm machinery and farm implements.
17. Equipment used by farmers or farm cooperatives qualifying under Section 521 of the Internal Revenue Code to manufacture industrial ethanol; provided, however, that the materials from which the ethanol is derived consist primarily of farm products.
18. Grain, tobacco and other agricultural products shall be exempt from taxation while In the hands of a producer.
The aforesaid ordinance is available for public examination at the office of the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors of Rappahannock County between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
All persons affected by the aforesaid ordinance may appear at a hearing in the Rappahannock County Courthouse at 10tf0 a.m. on December 1,1980 to present their views.
