Rappahannock’s outstanding 4-Hers received recognition at a special awards ceremony held last Wednesday evening at the elementary school.

Fourth and fifth graders in the elementary school’s inschool 4-H clubs “ohed” and “ahed" over projects set up on cafeteria tables in demonstrations of what older club members have been doing over the past year.

The Horse and Pony Club’s display featured enough horse books to start a library, saddles, horse care products and riding apparel. Chester Gap 4-Hers brought stuffed animals and pin cushions they’d created while the wall behind the Clover Leaf Home Economics Club looked like a fashion botique with home sewn dresses displayed on hangers. The Livestock Club’s table was covered with ribbons won at the area farm show this summer and more ribbons won in demonstration contests decorated the Dog Club’s projects.
