Mr. Whorton, 55, was a native of Rappahannock County and the son of the late Conner William and Nora Alice Haynes Whorton. He was a member of Massanova Pentecostal Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Montrue Mae Clatterbuck Whorton; a daughter. Miss Nancy Lee Whorton of Flint Hill; three sons, Charles Russell Whorton, Ray Thomas Whorton and James Lee Compton, all of Flint Hill; two sisters, Mrs. Virgie Lee Peyton and Mrs. Helen Mae Compton, both of Amissville.
