A fund drive by the Sperryville Volunteer Rescue Squad became necessary after removating a new operating base in the VFW hall and operating and maintaining two rescue units to serve Sperryville and portions of adjoining communities.

A letter has been sent to residents of the Sperryville area which reads as follows:

Dear Concerned Citizens and Friends of our Community:

Here it is—a brand New Year—1981! We have a new President and a new Administration to head our Nation. The Hostages have finally been freed. Among the dynamics of our times, you should be aware that your Volunteer Rescue Squad has officially moved into and is functioning from its new home. This latter event also took some doing.
