Three Rappahannock homes will be open this weekend for the annual house tour and dried flower arrangement sale to be conducted Saturday from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. and on Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. The event is arranged by the Episcopal Churchwomen of Bromfield Parish with tour headquarters and the flower salesroom located in the Trinity Shurch parish hall at Washington. Tour tickets may be purchased at any of the three homes to be open, as well as the parish hall.
The homes include Brookside, located on Route 729 south of Ben Venue, and owned by Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Kilpatrick; The Chimneys, home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles B. Russell on Route 522 north of Flint Hill, and the home of Dr. and Mrs. Werner Krebser, Meadowbrook Farm on Route 522 at Huntly. Tea will be served both days of the tour at Brookside from 2 to 5 p.m.
Trinity Episcopal Church, the Rappahannock Historical Society building and Rappahannock County Library, all in Washington, will be opened, also.
Brookside is a fine, old Federal house built in three sections beginning in 1805. Stately oak trees and magnificent American boxwoods fill the surrounding grounds. The home contains memorabelia of Mr. (Continued on Page 4)
