Graveside services for Miss Laura Thornhill of Culpeper were conducted Sunday at Culpeper Masonic Cemetery by the Rev. John S. Farrar and the Rev. Floyd T. Binns.
Miss Thornhill died Thursday, October 8, 1981, at Culpeper Memorial Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Otis Rathborn and Pearl Early Thornhill.
A native of Culpeper, she had taught school at Gloucester, Charlottesville and Culpeper, for a total of 38Vi years before her retirement. In Culpeper she taught Latin and World History, often to more than one generation of families.
She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, the Westhampton College Alumni Association, the United Daughters of the Confederacy, the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Culpeper Baptist Church.
She is survived by two brothers, Otis R. Thornhill Jr., of Culpeper and D. W. Thornhill of Arlington.
