We would like to thank these two outstanding gentlemen for taking time to share their views and political experiences with the future leaders of this state. We would also like to thank Miss Griffin for arranging these talks in an effort to put seniors closer to Virginia’s political liaison.

So if you ask a senior about the upcoming elections, don’t be surprised if you receive a thorough, slightly opinionated, well informed answer.

The Senior class would like to remind everyone about the Flea-Fair to be held this weekend on the front lawn of the high school. Come by and have your car washed while you enjoy some free coffee and browse through the yard sale. The proceeds from this event will go towards financing an -annual senior trip.

The Cross Country team came up on the short end of the score in a very competitive meet against Strasburg this week. Scott Keithley once again broke his own course record.

The Lady Panthers hosted the Brentsville Tigers last week. Both the Rappahannock Junior Varsity and Varsity came out on the winning end. Our congratulations to them and hope that they may continue their winning ways.

District Garden

Clubs Meet

Rappahannock County Garden Club was one of five hostess clubs for the fall meeting of the Shenandoah District, held Thursday, October 8 in Culpeper. The district is composed of 85 clubs, all of which belong to the Virginia Federation of Garden Clubs.

The Rappahannock group assisted with the morning coffee hour and prepared the luncheon table arrangements of Rappahannock apples and boxwood.

The afternoon program on dried flowers was presented by Mrs. George Davis and Mrs. T. M. Johnston.

The meeting was well attended with 2% members present and of these 32 were from the Rappahannock Club. ITT
