Mrs. Massie said she’d received a letter from supervisor clerk Diane Bruce in response to an account in the Rappahannock News last month that related the school board's concern over its failure to receive any data on unemployment claims filed by former employees. According to Bruce, all claims paid in the past by the supervisors were sent first to the school board office and then forwarded to the supervisors for payment.
"This is the first knowledge I’ve had that any have been sent (to school board offices),’’ Mrs. Massie reported. She added tha* she’d never received am information on unemployment claims from the administration and that since reimbursement came from the supervisors, payment never showed up on school board warrants.
"There was a little communication channel going along on the side that we knew nothing about," remarked board member Robert Eastham.
