Citizens of Planning District 9, do we want our FORE workshop for the handicapped to remain open?
FORE, near Remington, is suffering severe funding cuts. We no longer have the money to provide transportation for the clients, or to meet the payroll last month.
The staff has been cut from 12 to six, the bare minimum to keep the shop operating, and doubling their duties. But for our dedicated and inspired director Robert Hundley and staff, we would be closed as many workshops in Virginia have been.
I feel you, our "91,795 residents of PD 9, should know this now so you can have the opportunity to rally round with your money and talents if you want to keep open the workshop for our handicapped.
Financial help is needed now to enable the 30 clients currently at FORE to remain self-supporting, many living independently, off welfare, in their own apartments with their own possessions and the hope of procuring jobs out in
