Rappahannock will receive $6,179 as the county’s share ] of Virginia Department of < Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) profits for the first < quarter of the 1981-82 fiscal < , year.
A total of $5,650,819 will be distributed to the state's counties, cities and towns, a figure that represents twothirds of the Department's profits for the period following statutory adjustments and a one-third distribution to the state’s general fund.
The town of Washington will receive $261.06 for ABC' first quarter profits. * The revenue comes primarily from the sale of distilled spirits, cordials and wines at state operated ABC stores. ABC profits are distributed on a per capita basis at the current rate of $1.06.
In addition, Rappahannock will also get $787.37 as its share of the $690,881 generated from the sale of wine which is also divided between counties and cities on a per capita basis.
