Built in 1%5, the Amissville facility serves as a region-wide fire school once a year as well as a learning site for the high school fire science students. Its purpose is to imitate real-life fire and rescue emergencies.
The students rescue each other from a' burning building, learn how to transport and handle the heavy fire hoses, give first aid and use their protective breathing equipment.
