Slate Milla Slate Mills Baptist Church will have a Christmas program Sunday morning, December 13 at 11 a.m. in music and scripture. The three choirs will participate with solos by Mrs. Dudley Howard and Joe Eaton, and a trio composed of Mrs. Irvin Kenyon, Mrs. Harold Eaton and Mrs. Howard will perform. On the guitar will be Steve Lamb and Phil Eaton, and the Rev. J. H. Eaton is the pastor.
County Christmas Events
County Christmas activities this year will again include a Pageant, caroling, tree lighting, and refreshments on Sunday, December 20th, beginning about 7 p.m. Locations of the Pageant, the Tree Lighting and the refreshments will be slightly different as follows:
The Pageant will be presented in the Mountain Magic Theatre on Gay Street; the Tree Lighting will be near the Court House entrance, and the refreshments will be served in the former Fire House across from the Court House. Only the caroling will trace last year's paths.
Further details will appear next week in these pages but it is appropriate here to say that modest contributions will be welcome to defray costs of heating, lighting, and refreshments. And white candles for the Town lanterns would be greatly appreciated. They should be at least six inches long.
