High school students in Virginia are invited to participate in the fifth annual poetry contest sponsored by Virginia Tech’s English department.
First prize is $100; second, $50; and third, $25. Four $10 prizes will be awarded for v/ourth place, and honorable mentions will be made as merited.
The top three prize winners and their sponsoring teachers will be invited to appear on WDBI-TV, Roanoke, and to tape a program at WBRA-TV, Roanoke, for release to Public Broadcasting Service stations throughout Virginia.
The deadline for submission is March 15.
