Bridge work in Rappahannock is one of 22 contracts totaling $18.1 million recently approved by the Virginia Department of Highways and Transportation. Bids for the construction, resurfacing and maintenance projects were received in December.
The local project on Route 211 involves widening and replacing the bridge deck over the North Fork Thornton River and widening approach roads near Sperryville. Perry Engineering Company, Inc., of Winchester was awarded the $258,659 contract.
