Local governments that want to enact so-called “cased gun ordinances" will , not get the authority from the 1983 General Assembly.
The Senate, by a 26-11 margin, killed a bill Monday that would have given localities the option of prohibiting persons from carrying uncased firearms. The House Courts of Justice Committee killed a similar bill sponsored by Delegates George Beard and Raymond R. “Andy” Guest last week.
