The motions passed unanimously.
The architect said that there might be some problems with the contractors. The low bidder, he said, had never re-bid a job; and with the exact amount of the low bid now public knowledge, it was doubtful if any of the lower bidders would re-bid. The higher bidders would not find it worthwhile to bid again. “So unless you have bidders from your community,” he said, “you may not have any bids.”
The board agreed to schedule the bid opening for March 8 and went into executive session for two hours to consult with Stone.
Nelson Lane, on vacation, was absent from the special meeting.
