Soviet Peace
Is Mockery

We are witnessing a Soviet “Peace” offensive. In Jeremiah 8:11 we read of the judgment of the Lord: “For they have healed the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying: Peace, Peace, when there is no peace. We looked for peace, but no peace came, and for a time of health, but there was only terror”.
“Peace” is a wonderful word. However, the connotation to a Communist is another story. Communist world control is the meaning of the word “peace” to the Soviets. They rely on this word to subvert and undermine non-Communist governments.
We all know that here in the U.S. leaders of disarmament groups are having campaigns for a nuclear freeze by influencing public opinion. They do this by means of targeting some of the more susceptible and influential groups such as university professors, students, religious leaders, labor unions, journalists and government officials.
The activities of disarmament and nuclear-freeze groups are being coordinated by the World Peace Council which is directed from Moscow. An offshoot in this country, the United States Peace Council, has the objective of stopping development and deployment of the MX missile, the B-l bomber and the Trident submarine.
Of particular interest was the first conference of International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War which was held at Airlie, near Warrenton, Virginia in -.March, 1981, and attended by a Soviet delegation headed by Georgy Arbatov, head of the Institute of the U.S. and Canada. It closed on March 21, after 5 days of speeches emphasizing the horrors of nulcear war, the “destablilizing” dangers of U.S. development of new weapons and the desirability of cooperation with the Soviets. This “war called Peace” is a mockery. It is a clear warning and a call to action for those who cherish freedom and refuse to be bound to their mortal and amoral enemy.
