To the editor

As a subscriber of your newspaper for nearly twenty years, I read with considerable interest the special article that appeared in the January 27, 1983 issue entitled “Rappahannock —Looking Back 150 Years”.

However, the article mistakenly identified the name of the teacher at Forest. Grove school as a Missida Brown. The identification must have come as quite a shock to some of your readers who reside in the Amissville and Castleton area. The full name of the teacher at Forest Grove school was Ida Roberta Browning. This information can be verified by J. T. Woodward whose farm joins the Ida Browning farm.

As the niece of the late Miss Ida Roberts Browning, I would very much appreciate a timely identification of her correct name in your newspaper.
