For the post of commonwealth attorney, the race will be between local lawyers Peter Luke and David Konick. Both have law of-* fices in the town of Washington.
Konick, a resident of Castleton, has served as Rappahannock’s zoning administrator for the past two years.
Luke, an Amissville resident, resigned last week from the position of substitute judge for the 20th judicial circuit in order to try for the commonwealth’s attorney slot. A former prosecutor with the U. S. Air Force, he retains his position as special judge (handling commitments and marriages).
Incumbent Douglas Baumgardner declared earlier this month that he would not seek re-election as commonwalth’s attorney.
