They agreed to do so the following evening. Repairs will include clearing brush in the rear, painting the exterior and fixing a hole in the roof.
“While we’re at it, maybe we should change the color,” Hawkins said.
“Dorothy, that church has been white for so long. I’d be afraid to change it,” said the mayor.
Updike pointed out that covering the building with white paint would be a great deal cheaper than using a color. The council postponed a decision until Brad Fisher, who was not present, delivers some paint chips for consideration.
After a motion to pay the bills, the council adiourned.
