Johnson Tours
With NRECA
Kristie Johnson of Woodville will be one of 25 Virginia high school students joining nearly 1,000 young people from across the United States in Washington, D. C., next week at the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association’s Y outh Tour.
Kristie and her fellow Virginia representatives will begin Monday morning with a visit to Governor Charles Robb at the state capitol and a tour through the State Senate and House chambers.
Highlight of the threeday trip will be meetings with U. S. senators and representatives. Vice-president George Bush will join the young people at the White House Wednesday afternoon.
The group will also visit NRECA headquarters on Dupont Circle and the Kennedy Center, dine at the Flagship Restaurant and take an evening cruise on the Potomac River before returning to Richmond Thursday afternoon.
Kristie is being sponsored on the tour by the Rappahannock Electric Cooperative.
